Intambo kwabesifazane ishaywe uMeserek Meleka (2:24.02) wase-Ethiopia, isibili kwaba uTecla Kirongo waseKenya (2:27.56) kweyesithathu kwaba uJudith Cherono naye waseKenya ngesikhathi esiwu (2:30.32). Kwabesilisa uStephen Mokoka wakuleli nguye oshaye intambo ngesikhathi esiwu (2:09:58), indawo yesibili ithathwe uDerseh Kindie Kassie (2:11.26), isithathu sathathwa uDagnachwe Adere Maru (2:11.52), okungabagijimi base-Ethiopia.
Ebuzwa ngomzila ukuthi ubunjani uthe: “Bekunzima kakhulu, ngoba bengilindele ukuthi kuzobe kuqondile nje ngendlela engizilungiselele ngayo kodwa ngafica okuhlukile. Kodwa ngiyajabula ukuthi endaweni enhle, ekubeni kade kumjaho onzima lo,” usho kanje.
UJanet odabuka eMzimkhulu, bekuyiMarathon yakhe yesithathu le abeyigijima. Ubaziwa kakhulu ekugijimeni amabanga amafushane anjengo-10km no-21km. Ekuqaleni kwalo nyaka ushaye intambo kwiBest of the Best Marathon ngesikhathi esiwu-2:40.59. Komunye awugijimile ube owokuqala kwabakuleli ukufika esiphethweni seDurban International Marathon. Wenze isikhathi esiwu-2:43.07.
Ubeya kulo mjaho nje ubehlale isikhathi eside ngenxa yokulimala edolweni. Kuwo lo nyaka uphinde wenza kahle kwiPDAC 25km elala isibili. Uqophe isikhathi esiwu-1:36.00. Intambo yashaywa uzakwabo kwiXcell, uZinhle Shabalala ngesiwu-1:35.57.
Usalelwe imijaho emibili kulo nyaka, lapho kubalwa iSoweto Marathon neDrankensburg Marathon ebiyaziwa ngokuthi iJosiah Gumede Marathon.
Njengoba iXcel Running Club ibiqeda iminyaka emibili yasungulwa ubonge impatho ayithola kuyona. “Le kilabhu isazokwenza isazoqhubeka nokwenza kahle, ngoba abaphathi bayabaseka abagijimi babo ngakho konke. Ngizimisele ukunqoba imijaho emikhulu ngaphansi kwayo iXcel Running Club,” kusho yena.
