Umlando omfishane ngesizwe sakwaCebekhulu

ISIZWE sakwaCebekhulu esibuswa nguMntwana uNsikayezwe  kaT J Cebekhulu kaMkhonto kaBizo sinomlando omude wamaqhawe. Ukhokho wabakwaCebekhulu nguKhuzwayo igama lakhe. Wayakhe umuzi wakhe waseMaxasheni eduze komfula iMfolozi eMhlophe phesheya kwentaba iNhlazatshe ngasesandleni sokudla uma uwela iMfolozi eMhlophe ubheke edolobheni laseVryheid. UKhuzwayo wazala uNomageje yena owazala uGobo ozala uMzimba.

Wafika kuleyo ndawo waphatha isizwe ngobuqotho obukhulu. INgonyama uShaka yaphinde yamkhuphulela eliphezulu. Yamjuba ukuthi ayokuba yiso layo esifundeni saseMatigulu. Leso sifunda sasikade singaphansi kweNkosi uPhakathwayo kaKhondlo kaMncinci kaLufutha wakwaQwabe.

Indawo yakhe yayihamba ize iyofinyelela eMatigulu engakanqotshwa wahlanganiswa noZulu wonkana yiSilo uShaka.

Kuthe ngesikhathi seNgonyama uCetshwayo kwavela indoda esizweni sakwaCebekhulu uSomanxiwa kaKalomageje kaGaqa Khoza owayekwazi ukwenza imithi yakhe imvula ine. Ngakho-ke iSilo uCetshwayo sacela ukuba ayinise. Ibutho likaSomanxiwa kwaku uDloko. Wacela ukuthi alethelwe izinsizwa ezine kuye. Kwalethwa: uNjakadamsiya kaSomopho Mthembu, uMahunqu kaMkokwana Zungu, Masusimpisi kaMndlovu Khoza noBikwayo kaLoziwawa Ntuli. Wathatha lezi zinsizwa ezine waya lapho kuhlangana khona yonke imifula esifundeni: iNseleni, iMbabe, iPose, iCwaka, oKhula, iNtiwe noMhlathuze. Le mifula yayihlangana endaweni kaJokozela kaMdlekezana Mthiyane.

USomanxiwa watshela iSilo uCetshwayo esasiseMangweni ngaleso sikhathi ukuthi ucela kulethwe inkunzi emnyama bhuqe, ithathwe kweminye yemizi yeSilo uCetshwayo oDwini. Nempela lokho kwenziwa. Waphinde wacela ukuthi kulethwe inqama emnyama bhuqe ilandwe emzini weSilo uCetshwayo kwaGobuphondo. Inkunzi yenkomo emnyama nenqama yemvu emnyama kwaqhutshwa kwayiswa lapho kuhlangana khona imifula. Kwathi inkomo isadla nje utshani inqama yabanjwa uSomanxiwa kaLomageje wathi mayihlatshwe ibulawe ngezandla. Kwathi isibulewe wayihlaba ngasesandleni sokunxele. Wakhipha umsila, isibindi nenyongo ukuze azokusebenzisa emthini yakhe. Watshela abantu ukuthi balethe inkunzi yenkomo emnyama kuye. Inkunzi eyayikhethiwe yayingenalo ulaka kuyinkunzi ezithulele engethuki. USomanxiwa wayephethe umkhonto wokugwaza ayewulolile. Waya enkunzini wayiphulula kwathi ingazelele wayigwaza ohlangothini langakwesinxele ngokuyela emathunjini amancane. Inkunzi yawa ngokushesha yafa. Wayivula isikhumba wakhipha isibindi nenyongo.

Umphumela wempi kaZibhebhu noSuthu 1882-1888

Ngenkathi kubheduka impi phakathi kukaZibhebhu kaMaphitha Zulu owayesetshenziswa ngamaNgisi, amakhosi amaningi kwaZulu ehlukana phakathi. Amaningi awazange amsekele uZibhebhu ngoba ayebona ukuthi wayesetshenziswa yisitha. KwaCebekhulu kwakubusa iNkosi uBizo okwathi uma amaNgisi emcindezela ukuthi eseke uMandlakazi wagcina evumile kanti ukakwe ngamakhosi ayevutha uphondo eqotho kakhulu endlunkulu kwazise isigodlo saseMangweni seSilo uCetshwayo ngokwaso sasifaka ugqozi kubantu abathanda izwe labo. Ngakho-ke isizwe sikaBizo saklayeka phakathi. Lokhu kwenziwa ukuthi UBhejane Khoza wayekade eyinceku yeNgonyama uCetshwayo esigodlweni saseMangweni waqhubeka noma sekuphethe iSilo uDinuzulu wabamba iqhaza ezindabeni zasendlunkulu.

Kuthe uma kubuyiswa iSilo uCetshwayo ekudingisweni e-Oude Moulen mhla zingama 29 kuMasingana  ngowe-1883, uMbuso wamaNgisi wexwayisa uBizo ukuthi ngenxa yokuthi yonke indawo eyayiphakathi koMhlathuze neMfolozi eMhlophe yabe isinikezwe iSilo uCetshwayo, uBizo wayengaba sengozini yokubulawa ngabantu abawuSuthu. Welulekwa ukuthi ayokwakha endaweni eyayingaphansi kukaJohn Dunn phakathi koThukela noMhlathuze. Wahlala kuleyo ndawo waze wabuya ngonyaka we-1888 yonke indawo esenyakatho yoThukela noMzinyathi isifakwe ngaphansi koMbuso wamaNgisi.
