Kwakungabantu abanobuciko bokubeka inkulumo ngendlela enongayo, inkosi kungathiwa inkosi kepha ifaniswe neziga zonke. Kwakungabantu abanesibindi, bengankumpezi uma inkosi isiphaphalaza kepha beyikhuza beyeluleka. Lokhu kwakuyenza ibe nesithoza, ihlonipheke.

Amakhosi ayezithanda izimbongi, ezixoshisa ngemihlambi yezinkomo azakhele imizi. Uma kuhlatshiwe imbongi ibilethelwa umhluzi otshebile onamafutha, kwenzelwa ukuba izwi layo liqaqambe njengomtshingo lapho isigedeza imusho okaNdaba, izwi limpongoloza livala izaho zamabutho nemisindo yakoMkhulu; liqandule kuzwe osenhla nosezansi baze benanele bonke bathi: Musho!’ Okubaluleke kakhulu ukuthi izimbongi zabe zinelungelo lazo zodwa, lokusho noma yini kuphela nje uma iliqiniso; noma ziyayigxeka inkosi, noma ziyayikhuza ziyeluleka noma ziyayisola, noma zithini, zazingabekwa cala.
Imisebenzi yembongi
Ukuphuma impi: Bekuthi lapho inkosi isiqedile ukuyala ngamasu okufanele impi ihlasele ngawo, amabutho esegqishe ngezinkani, kuqale yona imbongi iwavulele indlela ngokuhasha amakhosi. Njalo nxashana ibongela, kwabe kungumgomo ukuba IQALE ngamakhosi asakhothama, azala inkosi ebusayo. Phela konke bekubikwa kuwo futhi kucelwa kuwo.
Izobonga njalo ize ifike kulena ebusayo, icela indlela enhle nokunqoba. Lapho isiyehla yenyuka emkhumbini wempi, phela yona isiqalile ukuhlaba izitha. Ithi ibikade isekhaleni lempi uyayethuka isisemuva kogcinalishone.
Amabutho awathule belu, nawo avuma inkondlo yenkosi, asenuka igazi ngamakhala, asefisa sengathi ngabe asephezu kwabo abafo. Kokunye nje, kuhutshwa inkondlo kaCetshwayo, kuthiwa: Ungamqali umuntu uzithulele; Awusinikele abafo; Hawu, awusinikele abafo.
Kothi lapho ima khona imbongi ithi isathatha umoya, ezwakale amabutho esethi: “Bayede uliZulu!” Kokunye athi: “Musho okaNdaba!” Sekuzohanjwa-ke njalo, kuqondaniswe nokuba kuyolalelwa ngakuzo izitha ngoba phela abakwaZulu babehlasela ukukhala kwezinkukhu.
Nakhona belu, kozwakala ngayo imbongi isigedeza, kanti isibika ukuthi baphakathi. Izosho maqede kwenanele izimpondo, kudume phansi izaho. Imbongi lapho isiyagqanqula, isiphikelele ukuwugimbikica ngomzuzwana umuzi lowo wenkosi ehlaselwayo.
Phela yenzela ukuba ibafake amanzi eziswini labo abahlaselwayo. Nempela kuzobanjalo lapho bezwa ukuthi le nkosi ebongwayo ngeyakwaZulu. Bheka wena! Buyochitheka bugayiwe, kufe gula linamasi ngempela. Kothi kusafudumele kusenjalo, iqhele imbongi, phela amagagasi agubha ededelana, nayo isiqhelela amabutho ukuba nawo enze lokho eze ngakho.
Yona isizobheka indawo ethe qekele, lapho izobona kahle khona ukubambana kwayo, nokuthi yibaphi abahlabene kuqala. Izobheka futhi namaqhawe abafo azosala enkundleni ukuze ikwazi ukuqamba izibongo zenkosi ngawo; uyayizwa isithi: “Izulu elidume emva komuzi eKuqobekeni, Lazithatha izihlangu zamaPhela. Wamudla uNomhlanjane ezalwa nguZwide; Wamudla uDayingubo ezalwa nguZwide; Wamudla uNombengula ezalwa uZwide; Wamudla uMpondophumelela kwezinde eMapheleni; Wamudla uMntimona ezalwa nguGaqa emaPheleni; Wamudla uMdandaza kaGaqa emapheleni; Wamudla uNozigaba kaThatho; Wamudla uNkayishana eCwecweni.” (Izibongo zikaShaka).

Uma impi inamandla kakhulu, kubonakala ukuthi amabutho ezitha isiyawabhuqa, kozwakala ngayo futhi imbongi isithi: “Izulu elidum phezu kwaMagongqo omabili, Laduma lazithatha izihlangu zoMbelebele, Lazithatha izihlangu zakwaBulawayo. Lazithatha izihlangu zeZinyosi. Lazithatha izihlangu zoDlambedlu. Lazithatha izihlangu zikallongamnyana. Lazithatha izihlangu zoMgumanqa!” (UMpande lowo).
Lana ngamabutho kaDingane abhuqwa nguMpande empini yaseMagonggo. Konke lokhu imbongi ikubona kahle izihlaleie esikhoweni sayo. Kuthi lapho iyibona sengathi iyahlehla impi yenkosi, ikhuze ibabaze ithi: “Kazi niyobuyela kuphi?” Pho lokhu uShaka wayewadonse ngendlebe amabutho akhe ukuthi aze angalingi abaleke ngcono afele empini onke ngoba ngisho angaze abaleke yena uyofike awabulale. Zizidele nangempela izinsizwa zakhe umkhumbi ngisho bezihlakaza abafo. Kothi lapho sebewa izindimbane, umuntu eseqa isidumbu ngaphezulu, izwakale imbongi ithi; “Kudeia wena osulapho. Kashongo njalo yini okaNdaba?”
Ukutshalwa kwenkosi: Yonke imininingwane esiyibona yenziwa ngabeFundisi lapho kungcwatshwa umuntu, kuqala yabe yenziwa yimbongi, nxashana kukhotheme inkosi. Yiyona imbongi eyabe yenza inkonzo yomngcwabo ngale ndlela: Njengoba besesishilo sathi inkosi yabe ingalilelwa kakhulu lapho isiye koyisemkhulu, kepha bekuhlalwa ngokuhuba amahubo esizwe nenkondlo eyabe iyikhonzile ngenkathi isaphila.
Sonke leso sikhathi, imbongi yona iyabongela. Ibikela oyise benkosi ukuthi abayemukele. Ibatshela ngokuhlabana kwayo ilwela umbuso wabo, abayishiyela wona. Iyicelela indlela enhle nokuba kwabona abaphansi basingathe isizwe ngenkathi sisibekelwe ifu elimnyama lokufa. Kothi nalapho usuphuma umkhosi wokuyofihla inkosi, kuhambe imbongi phambili, icela indlela.
Ukubongela imikhosi: Noma yimuphi umkhosi owenziwayo komkhulu, ubikwa yiyo imbongi ngokubona nxashana inkosi isizophuma, kokunye izonyathela uselwa. Lizothi ibandla lisalindile esibayeni, izwakale imbongi nebandla liqonde ukuthi inkosi isiyeza. Kanjalo futhi emva kokubusa, kuzozwakala ngembongi ukuthi umkhosi usuphethiwe. Ngisho inkosi izozibhungela izindaba zombuso nezinduna zayo, yendulelwa imbongi; kanti nesigcawu sishayelwa yiyo.
Ukugcina umlando: Abakuqala babeyazisa kakhulu imbongi ngokwenzela inkosi udumo nokubatshazwa. Thina banamuhla, siyibheka ngamanye amehlo imbongi lena nokubaluleka kwayo. Esifike sikutuse kakhulu ukuthi isigcinela umlando. Kuningi kabi engabe asikwazi kepha sifike sikufune ezibongweni. Phela abantu abaningi abasawazi umlando wesiZulu.
Ngake ngathola ukudumala okukhulu ngizwa abanumzane ababili bexoxa, omunye etusa ukuthi yena ungumZulu, iNkosi yakhe kwabe kunguShaka. Abuze lona omunye ukuthi yena uShaka lowo wabe ezalwa ngubani. Impendulo iyona eyangicoba amathambo.
Phela umZulu waphendula wathi uShaka wabe ezalwa nguCetshwayo. Ngineqiniso lokuthi oseke wazifundisisa izibongo zamakhosi njengoba emaningi kangaka amabhuku alotshiwe ngazo, ngeke abanakho ukuphaphalaza kangako ngokwelamana kwamakhosi akithi.
Nami ngizophinda lapha ngiwelamanise ngalolu hlobo. Umuntu owabe ngowokuqala ngqa ukuba abizwe ngokuthi inkosi yakwaZulu nguShaka. Ngaphambi kwakhe isizwe samaZulu sabe siyisizwana esincane esabe singaphansi kwamakhosi afana nawoJobe, noDingiswayo, amakhosi akwaMthethwa.
Nokho ukuze sixhume kahle umlibo wokwelamana kwamakhosi akwaZulu asiqale kuyo inzalabantu, nawo lawo makhosana. Ukhulukhulu wesizwe uMalandela ngokulandela izinkomo zamadoda. UMalandela wazala uQwabe noZulu. Umuzi wakhe wabe ungaseBabanango. UQwabe waxabana nomnawakhe uZulu, wabe esembuka uZulu eyokwakha eMkhumbane phezu kweMfolozi, osekusesizindeni sabohlanga lwakwaZulu namhlanje. UZulu wazala uNkosinkulu, yena wazala uPhunga noMageba bengamawele UMageba; owazala uNdaba, uNdaba wazala uJama kwathi uJama wazala uSenzangakhona. USenzangakhona wazala uShaka noDingane noMpande, okuthe ukuba uShaka noDingane bangabinanzalo umlibo wobukhosi waxhunywa nguMpande owazala uCetshwayo, kwathi uCetshwayo wazala uDinuzulu.
UDinuzulu wazala uSolomoni, yena wazala uBhekuzulu, kwathi uBhekuzulu wazala ingonyama esesihlalweni namhlanje (1975), uZwelithini. Ezibongweni zikaNdaba nezikaJama, asifundi lutho kangako ngomlando wamaZulu, kakade uZulu kwakungakabi sizwe esingakanani. Izibongo zabo zisitshela ngobunjalo babo ziqu kanye nemikhosi ethile eyayiligugu kulezo zinsuku.
